A quotation offers a price, it does not ask for payment
A quotation tells a customer what a job or an order would cost and until when that price holds. Nothing is owed yet, so this document says total quoted rather than amount due, and shows a valid-until date instead of a due date.
Customers often compare quotations from several suppliers, so a clear document with your business details, itemised prices and a date helps you look like the easiest one to deal with.
When the customer accepts, make an invoice, a VAT bill or a PAN bill for the same items, whichever matches how your business is registered.
How to make one in five steps

Your business name, address, tax number and, if you like, your logo. The logo is read in your browser and never uploaded.

Name and address, plus their PAN if they are a business that needs it for their own accounts.

Questions
What is the difference between a quotation and a proforma invoice?
A quotation offers a price and invites the customer to accept it. A proforma invoice states what the final invoice will show, usually once the order is agreed, so the buyer can arrange payment or approval.
Does a quotation include VAT?
It can. If you are registered for VAT, tick VAT so the customer sees the price they would actually pay.
How long should a quotation stay valid?
That is your choice. The tool suggests 30 days and you can change the date.
Can I turn a quotation into an invoice?
Yes. Switch the document type to Invoice, VAT bill or PAN bill. Your items and details stay as they are.
